KIEV, Ukraine, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Moammar Gadhafi's "voluptuous blonde" Ukrainian nurse is deserting him too, her daughter said Saturday.
Galyna Kolotnytska is trying to return to Ukraine, RIA Novosti reported, citing an interview her daughter Tatyana gave the Kiev newspaper Segodnya.
"My mother contacted me yesterday," she said. "She said she is currently in Tripoli. There are shootings, fights and everything shown by media. She talked to me calmly, asked not to worry about her and said she will be soon back home."
U.S. diplomatic cables published by WikiLeaks depict Kolotnytska, 38, as a "voluptuous blonde" who accompanies the Libyan dictator everywhere. Gadhafi is said to depend on her as she "knows his routine."
Earlier reports said she was standing by him and would not leave.
Ukraine has told its citizens to leave Libya, but many doctors are refusing to go because they have not been paid, RIA Novosti said.
