MEXICO CITY, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Eight people were gunned down in the streets of suburban Mexico City early Sunday, authorities said.
El Sol de Mexico reported seven people -- six men and one women, ages 16-25 -- were killed in one location in Nezahualcoyotl when members of a gang fired on them from two moving trucks. The eighth victim was an unclothed young woman found dead in a street in another neighborhood.
The Mexico City newspaper said the slayings, which occurred about 2 a.m., came less than a month after another mass execution in Nezahualcoyotl.
Authorities are investigating whether the two incidents were related to the sale and distribution of drugs in the region.
