Security building attacked in Egypt

Feb. 11, 2011 at 3:52 PM

RAFAH, Gaza, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- A building used by Egyptian security forces on the border with Gaza was attacked early Friday, the Ma'an news agency reported.

A rocket-propelled grenade was shot at the building in Rafah before President Hosni Mubarak announced his resignation. The attack was believed carried out by Egyptian dissidents angry over Mubarak's announcement Thursday that he would remain in office until an election in September, Ma'an reported.

Emergency workers said a 30-year-old man was wounded in the hand but there appeared to be no other casualties.

Residents of the Gaza town of Rafah said they heard explosions coming from the Egyptian side.
