Russia starts anti-corruption hotline

MOSCOW, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Russia is setting up a telephone hotline and Web site for citizen complaints of corruption, an official said Friday.

Anatoly Kucherena, a member of an advisory body called the Public Chamber, told RIA-Novosti, "It will be a hall of shame so people will know what's going on."

Kucherena also proposed public corruption ratings by region.

President Dmitry Medvedev has called for a campaign against corruption that includes introducing modern accounting practices, making all officials file tax declarations and reforming the courts and law enforcement.
