THE HAGUE, Netherlands, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- A Rwandan rebel leader was transferred to The Hague in the Netherlands where he has been charged with crimes against humanity and war crimes, officials said.

The International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Callixte Mbarushimana on charges of rape, murder, torture and destruction of property, Radio France Internationale reported Tuesday. Mbarushimana is executive secretary of the Hutu rebel group Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda, which has its operation in eastern Congo.
