Suicide blast in Pakistani market kills 16

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- A suicide bomb exploded in a market in Pakistan's Tirah Valley Wednesday, killing at least 16 people and wounding 31 others, officials said.

Kohat police chief Dilawar Bangash said the explosion occurred at a busy bus stop in the main bazaar in Tirah, Geo News reported.

Local police spokesman Fazal Naeem said the bomber walked to the bus then detonated his explosives.

Officials earlier thought the bomb was planted in a vehicle, but Banghash told Geo News, "We have found the head and legs of the suicide bomber."
