ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- The anti-corruption group Transparency International is protesting a reported threat to close down its chapter in Pakistan.
The organization was accused of acting like a "detective agency," Interior Minister Rehman Malik said in a report Sunday from Asian News International Sunday. The report said Malik was a threatening to stop the group's operations.

On Monday, TI appealed to Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to shield the group from interference.
The latest threat follows reports of officials calling on agencies to cut contacts with TI Pakistan.
TI Pakistan says it monitors public contracting and gives legal advice to victims of corruption to complain to the government.
