Six die in explosion at fireworks plant

SHIJIAZHUANG, China, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- An explosion at a fireworks plant in north China's Hebei Province killed six people and injured 10 others, officials said.

Human error probably caused the explosion at the Fuguishan Fireworks Plant in Fengning County, Chengde City, Xinhua reported Thursday.

The village owns the plant, and Song Huanwen, contracted to operate the facility, was on a business trip when the explosion occurred Wednesday afternoon.

One of the injured was in critical condition.

The explosion damaged no other structures, officials said. The company has more than 80 employees.
