SEOUL, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Currency issues will lead off the Group of 20 summit in Seoul, the summit's organizers said Sunday.

U.S. President Barack Obama, Chinese President Hu Jintao and other leaders will discuss currency disputes and cooperation for balanced global growth at their first dinner in Seoul on Thursday, the local organizing committee told Yonhap.

The currency issue also will be on the agenda at the first official session Friday.

The United States and the European Union have been pressuring China to let its currency rise against the dollar.

G20 finance ministers met in Gyeongju, South Korea, on Oct. 22-23 and agreed to move toward more market-determined exchange rates and avoid competitive devaluation.

The organizing committee said the G20 also will discuss reforming international financial institutions and a global financial safety net, development issues, global warming, financial regulation reform, energy and fighting corruption.
