Blast at Pakistani shrine kills 6

PAKPATTAN, Pakistan, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- A blast at a religious shrine in Pakpattan, Pakistan, Monday killed at least six people, injured several others and forced the shrine to close, police said.

Police said explosives were inside a milk bottle placed near a gate to the Dargah Hazrat Baba Farid Ganjshakar shrine, GEO News reported.

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani condemned the blast, expressing shock and grief about the deaths and injuries, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.

Media outlets did not indicate whether any group claimed responsibility for the explosion.
