6.2-magnitude earthquake strikes Fiji

SUVA, Fiji, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- A 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck the Pacific island nation of Fiji region early Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

No tsunami warning has been issued and there were no reports of any major damage.

The quake hit at 4:13 a.m. and was felt in Taveuni, Savusavu and Labasa, the Fijivillage News Web site said.
