TEHRAN, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has condemned reconciliation talks between the Palestinian Authority and Israel, saying "such dialogues have failed."
Addressing a large congregation on the campus of Tehran University before Friday prayers, Ahmadinejad said, "Palestine's fate is decided in Palestine and by Palestinians' resistance," the Iranian Students News Agency reported.
"Following the recognition of the evil regime by the United Nations 60 years ago, the worst crimes were committed in Palestine," he told the assembled students. "Millions were displaced and are still longing for returning home.
"If any talks are supposed to be held, Zionists must first leave Palestinians' territory," Ahmadinejad said of ongoing reconciliation talks.
Iranians took to the streets in the country's cities on the International Quds Day Friday to voice support for the Palestinian nation against Israel, FARS news agency reported.
