

CHICAGO, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Grain futures closed mixed on the Chicago Board of Trade Wednesday as corn gained and wheat declined.
Corn finished up 3 1/4 to off 9 1/2, soybeans were up 5 1/4 to off 11 3/4, wheat was up 4 3/4 to off 8 1/2 and oats were up 1 to up 1 1/2.
December corn sold off on favorable weather, a general lack of sell orders and a report by the U.S. Energy Information Administration that ethanol production was down by 42,000 barrels from last week. The USDA announced the sale of 240,000 tons of corn to Egypt.
Soybeans closed down on a forecast for more favorable weather in drought-stricken Russia and improved yields in Indiana and Ohio.

Corn: Sep 4.18 1/2 up 3 1/4, Dec 4.33 1/4 up 3 1/4, Mar 4.45 up 1 1/2, May 4.52 up 1 1/4.
Soybeans: Sep 10.34 1/2 off 10 3/4, Nov 10.30 1/4 off 11 3/4, Jan 10.37 1/4 off 11 1/4, Mar 10.39 1/4 off 11.
Wheat: Sep 6.55 3/4 off 4 3/4, Dec 6.88 1/4 off 4 1/4, Mar 7.09 3/4 off 3 3/4, May 7.10 3/4 off 2 1/4.
Oats: Sep 2.76 3/4 up 1 1/4, Dec 2.89 1/2 up 1, Mar 2.99 up 1 1/4.
