Separate attacks in Baghdad kill 5, hurt 8

BAGHDAD, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Separate attacks in Baghdad Tuesday left five Iraqi soldiers dead and eight civilians wounded, police said.

Baghdad authorities said gunmen armed with silencer-fitted guns killed five soldiers at a check point in al-Mansour district north of Baghdad, the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA reported.

Officials reported four people were wounded when a roadside bomb exploded east of Baghdad. A roadside bomb explosion in al-Doura neighborhood wounded three people and a blast at al-Khilani square injured one person, authorities said.
