JERUSALEM, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- The situation in Lebanon and the Gaza flotilla investigation were among issues on the agenda for a meeting of Israel's Security Cabinet.

Prime Minister Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was scheduled to convene the Cabinet Monday.

Israel Radio said the Cabinet ministers planned to discuss an international tribunal's decision to publish the names of suspects responsible for the 2005 assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri.

Last week, Israel's Channel One reported the prime suspect to be named by the tribunal is Mustafa Badr al-din, also known as "Elias Saab."

The television report said Hariri's son Saad, now the country's prime minister, reportedly pleaded with the tribunal to refrain from publishing the names of the suspects, fearing such a disclosure would hamper ties with Syria and Iran.

The pending announcement threatened the stability of the country and could possibly lead to a civil war, the radio report said.

Israel's ministers were to discuss a decision by U.N.Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to investigate an Israeli raid of the Gaza bound flotilla in May in which nine people were killed.

Ban informed Defense Minister Ehud Barak at a recent meeting in New York of the decision to investigate the incident. Following the meeting, Barak told reporters Israel agrees in principle to the establishment of the U.N. investigation.
