HEBEI PROVINCE, China, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- An intoxicated man driving a shovel-loader killed 11 people and injured at least 30 others in a rampage at a coal depot in north China, officials said.
Police said the man slammed the tractor into a makeshift office following a quarrel with a customer and then ran down pedestrians and smashed into shops and numerous vehicles.
The suspect, identified by authorities a Li Xianliangman, 38, reportedly started drinking during his lunch Sunday at the Shenqxing Coal Depot in China's Hebei province, China's news agency Xinhua reported.
Li allegedly drove the shovel loader into the office as revenge against a customer he had quarreled with. The intended victim escaped, but another customer was killed.
After smashing into the office, the suspect reportedly drove the tractor into more than 40 cars and motorcycles, struck pedestrians and damaged several roadside shops, Xinhua reported.
