MOSCOW, July 31 (UPI) -- A brawl between residents of two villages in the Russian republic of Dagestan turned deadly and left three dead and five injured, officials said.
The fight, involving about 200 people from each village, apparently started after an argument between two men from the north Caucasus towns of Gergebil and Tikuni, ITAR-Tass reported Saturday.
Three people died from gunshot wounds, police said.
The exact cause of the conflict is still under investigation.
Police have launched an inquiry to find and arrest the ringleaders and those who used firearms, ITAR-Tass said.
