GAZA CITY, Gaza, July 14 (UPI) -- Israeli artillery fire killed a Palestinian woman Tuesday night and injured five others in a residential area east of Gaza City, medics say.
Witnesses to the incident said Israeli forces entered Juhor Addik and began firing at civilian homes, the Palestinians Ma'an News Agency reported.
Nima Abu Said, 38, was taken to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Five others were treated for serious injuries, the chief of ambulance and emergency services said.
A spokesman for the Israeli military said he was unfamiliar with the reported operation but that it would be looked into.
In a separate incident, two Palestinians were injured by Israeli artillery fire near a Gaza refugee camp.
Reports said mortar shells had been fired from the area.
