Bombs kill six in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, June 19 (UPI) -- Bomb blasts killed at least six people late Saturday in Baghdad, police said.

Four of the deaths occurred in the Hurria neighborhood in northwestern Baghdad where three roadside bombs exploded, Xinhua, the official Chinese government news agency, reported. At least 15 people were hurt.

Xinhua said its reporters in central Baghdad heard two of the three bombs going off.

In eastern Baghdad, a rocket killed a woman and destroyed a house. A man was killed by a bomb in his car in western Baghdad, while his wife was injured.

On Friday, more than 20 people were killed by bombs and attacks in Iraq. Seven soldiers died when militants attacked a checkpoint near the Syrian border in Qaim, The New York Times said.
