Strike kills militants in North Waziristan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, March 16 (UPI) -- A suspected strike by a U.S. unmanned aircraft in the tribal region of North Waziristan, Pakistan, killed at least 11 militants Tuesday, officials said.

Officials said the suspected drone fired five missiles at two militant hideouts in the area along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border that provides a safe haven to Islamic extremists, CNN reported.

Five people were hurt in the attack, officials said.

A Pakistani intelligence officer said the dead militants were "mostly foreigners," The Times of India reported.
