SANTIAGO, Chile, March 15 (UPI) -- A 6-magnitude earthquake was detected Monday offshore of quake- and aftershock-ravaged Chile, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The temblor's epicenter was offshore of Bio-Bio, Chile, about 67 miles north of Concepcion, which sustained heavy damage in 8.8-magnitude earthquake in February, and about 221 miles southwest of Chile's capital of Santiago, the USGS said.
The earthquake was about six miles deep, the survey said.
Since the Feb. 27 quake, aftershocks, some at least 6-magnitude in strength, have rocked Chile.
