Life sentence for dismemberment murder

LONDON, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- A British man dubbed the jigsaw killer for killing and dismembering a friend and leaving body parts across two counties will go to jail for life, a judge ruled.

Stephen Marshall, 38, was found guilty of murdering Jeffrey Howe, 49, and leaving severed remains across Hertfordshire and Leicestershire counties last year, The Daily Mail reported Monday.

Marshall's girlfriend Sarah Bush, 21, pleaded guilty to helping dispose of the body parts and was sentenced to four years for perverting the course of justice, the Mail said.

Howe had allowed the couple to live in his London apartment when they needed a place to stay, and in March 2009 Marshall stabbed Howe to death, the court heard. Marshall and bush took over his property, drew money from his bank account and sold his belongings, testimony in the trial indicated.

Parts of Howe's body were discovered between March 22 and April 11, 2009, the Mail said.
