PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- A 16-year-old girl was rescued from the debris in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Wednesday, 15 days after a massive earthquake decimated the city, officials said.
French spokesman Marcel Orcel said French rescue workers said the girl was in poor condition with a possibly broken leg, but stable and talking, CNN reported. It was believed she had access to water in the bathroom of the house where she was trapped, the U.S. news network said.

She was flown by helicopter to the French medical ship Sirocco.
Efforts to free the girl, whose name was not available, started after a group of Haitians told staff at the French Embassy in Port-au-Prince they could hear a voice in the ruins of the house.
