MOSCOW, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- A cave-in Saturday at Russia's largest coal mine killed one worker, authorities in West Siberia said.
Rescuers evacuated 244 other miners after the ceiling collapsed in a shaft at the Raspadskaya mine, ITAR-Tass reported.

An investigation was under way to determine what caused the collapse and killed the 31-year-old miner, local authorities told ITAR-Tass.
