Rebels: Saudi jets bomb Yemen

SANAA, Yemen, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Saudi fighter jets made a series of bombing raids Thursday in northern Yemen aimed at positions held by Houthi rebels, the Houthis said.

The rebels reported about a dozen people were killed by the raids and a number of homes destroyed, Press TV reported. In their statement, the Houthis said 750 rockets were also fired into the region.

The conflict has been going on for more than five years. The U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees has reported at least 175,000 people are living in camps after being forced out of their homes.

Northern Yemen borders Saudi Arabia.
