1 killed, scores wounded in Iraq blasts

KIRKUK, Iraq, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Two bombs went off in Iraq Wednesday, killing a police officer and wounding dozens of other people, police sources said.

In one blast, a car bomb detonated in Kirkuk, killing the police officer and injuring three other people, the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA reported, quoting unnamed sources.

The news agency said scores of people were hurt when a suicide bomber detonated a booby-trapped car at a police station in West Mosul.
