Judge Abdul-Sattar Bayrkdar, spokesman for Iraq's Supreme Judicial Council, said the men were represented by attorneys and received a fair trial, with hearings held from Dec. 29 to Thursday.

Bayrkdar told Iraqi TV explosives and other materiel were found by investigators where the 11 were arrested.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and Foreign Minister Houshiar Zubeiri have accused Syria and the Baath party of executed Iraqi strongman Saddam Hussein of playing a role in the bombings. Damascus says it had nothing to do with the bombings.

Iraq is preparing for nationwide parliamentary elections in March.
