Arrest made in Lebanon bus shooting

BEIRUT, Lebanon, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Lebanese police have made an arrest in connection with an incident in which someone opened fire at a Syrian bus, sources say.

Citing an unnamed Lebanese source, the Kuwaiti news service KUNA reported Wednesday that a man named Shawqi al-Nather has been taken into custody for the shooting in northern Lebanon, which reportedly was a result of a personal disagreement between Nather and the bus driver.

The argument, the source told KUNA, was over smuggling.

One Syrian national was killed in the bus shooting. The vehicle had 25 passengers aboard at the time, officials said.
