ROTHLEY, England, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- The parents of Madeleine McCann said in a holiday appeal they long for the safe return of their missing daughter to their home in England.
Sky News said Friday that Kate and Gerry McCann paired their message on their Find Madeleine Web site with photographs of their daughter, who vanished in Portugal in May 2007 when she was 3 years old.
"There will be a spare place at the Christmas table again this year," the two parents, both 41, said online.
"If you know anything -- do the right thing and help us fill it.
"There's only one thing Madeleine wants this Christmas -- and that's to be back home."
Kate McCann also wrote on the Web site of the couple's visit this month to the Praia da Luz resort where her daughter disappeared, Sky News reported.
"I have longed to come back here for two years for personal and emotional reasons," she said.
"Although our pain feels much rawer here, it is comforting at the same time since we feel closer to Madeleine."
