TUCHKOVO, Russia, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- The mayor of Tuchkovo, Russia, and his wife have been found shot to death at their home west of Moscow, police said.
Vitaly Ustimenko's body was found Sunday on the front porch of his home and his wife's body was found inside the house, RIA Novosti reported Monday.
The couple's son called police, saying he arrived at his parents home and found them dead, the Prosecutor General's Office told ITAR-Tass.
No weapons were found at the scene. Detectives were investigating motives for the crime, including the professional dealings of Ustimenko and his wife, a businesswoman.
Ustimenko, 36, was elected mayor two months ago with support from A Just Russia, a Kremlin-backed party. Tuchkovo has about 18,000 residents and is located about 50 miles west of Moscow.
