Author of heartfelt bottle message sought

DUNDALK, Ireland, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- A woman in Ireland said she wants to find the individual who wrote a heartfelt message in Swedish and placed the message adrift inside a bottle.

Joan Conaghy said she first found the mysterious message while walking on Ireland's Termonfeckin Beach in 2006, the Swedish Web site The Local reported Wednesday. Conaghy said since the note was written in foreign language, she returned the message to the bottle and left the item alone.

Conaghy said she again found the bottle in January 2007 and her curiosity prompted her to contact a Swedish friend to have the message translated.

"I thought finding a message in a bottle twice must mean something," Conaghy said.

In English, the message reads "Sleep tight my little angels, kisses and hugs."

Conaghy suspects the message, which is signed with the nickname Plommonet or "the plum," was written by a mother who lost her children in the 2004 tsunami in the Indian Ocean.

"When I heard the words my heart sank because I felt it must have been about children," she said.

The Local said Conaghy has contacted media in Sweden in as part of her unsuccessful attempts to locate the unidentified author.
