CARACAS, Venezuela, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Several hundred Venezuelan students demonstrated in the capital, Caracas, Wednesday in protest of a student killed by authorities earlier this week.
The students were protesting in Caracas and other cities in the South American country against energy shortages, El Universal reported. A 20-year-old student was killed during those protests.
The protests followed the end of a hunger strike by 17 Venezuelan students earlier this week in protest against human rights violations allegedly carried out on the orders of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
