CHESTER, England, Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Police in Britain urged a man whose wife of six months was found dead in their garage to turn himself in Saturday.
Detectives in Cheshire also announced preliminary findings from a post-mortem suggest Victoria Roberts, 25, was strangled, the Liverpool Daily Post reported. Her body was discovered Thursday.
Her husband, Michael Roberts, 26, was present when police searched their property after his father-in-law reported Victoria missing. But he took off as soon as the body was found.
A neighbor said there was an "agonized cry" just before he saw Roberts running off the property.
Detective Inspector Andrew Smith said no one in Roberts' family has reported hearing from him since Thursday.
"It has been several days since Victoria's body was found but you have not contacted your family who are very concerned about your well-being," Smith said in a public appeal to the missing husband.
The couple lived in Swans Reach, an expensive subdivision in Daresbury.
