CALGARY, Alberta, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- The Canadian provincial court of Alberta is investigating a Calgary-area man's fifth lottery jackpot that a group claims should be a shared prize.
A spokeswoman for the Western Canada Lottery Corp. told the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. the case involving Seguro Ndabene was too complex for the corporation's routine jackpot investigation, so it was turned over to the province.
On Jan . 16, Nbadene tried to claim a $17 million jackpot, his fifth and largest prize since 2004. Soon after, a group including his brother-in-law came forward saying the winning ticket belonged to all of them, the report said.
Nbadene disputed the claim, saying all of the group's tickets are stamped on the back but his ticket has no stamp.
He wouldn't tell the CBC specifically how many tickets he buys each month, but said it was in the hundreds.
"I've got no system. I just play in every game," he said.
