Man who survived two plane crashes plans return to basketball

Austin Hatch was a high school basketball standout.

Nov. 22 (UPI) -- After surviving two plane crashes, both piloted by his father, Austin Hatch is planning to return to the basketball court at the University of Michigan.

"Basketball has given me something to shoot for. It has been my goal. When I woke up from the coma, I told people, 'I am going to play basketball again,'" Hatch said.

In 2003, Hatch and his father survived a plane crash that killed his mother and two siblings. Then in 2011, his father and stepmother were both killed in a plane crash but Hatch survived.
