Ryan Dempster hits Alex Rodriguez with fast ball [VIDEO]

Ryan Dempster, pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, hit the New York Yankees' Alex Rodriguez with a pitch at his first at-bat Sunday night.

The fastball glanced off Rodriguez's elbow bad and deflected into his back, causing the Yankee to stumble, WNBC-TV, New York reported.

The incident led to Yankees manager Joe Girardi running out onto the field at Boston's Fenway Park and caused both benches and bullpens to clear as players rushed the field. Girardi argued with plate umpire Brian O'Nora and the manager was eventually ejected.
