One thousand origami cranes fill St. Louis park to honor fallen first responders [PHOTOS]

Volunteers folder and laid out 1,000 paper cranes in St. Louis' Forest Park in an effort to raise funds for the families of fallen first responders.

The St. Louis Crane Project took place Saturday and Sunday at Art Hill in the park, KMOX-TV, St. Louis reported.

The paper cranes that were on display will be sold for $10 each. The proceeds will go to Backstoppers, a charitable organization that takes care of the families of first responders.
