Jan. 8 (UPI) -- A fire in a cooling unit atop New York City's Trump Tower injured two people on Monday morning, New Your Fire Department officials said.
President Donald Trump maintains a residence in his 58-story namesake building at Fifth Avenue and East 57th Street in Manhattan, but was not present at the time of the fire.
The fire was reported at about 7 a.m. Monday. Firefighters had extinguished the flames within an hour.
FDNY Chief Roger Sakowich said U.S. Secret Service agents at the building first noticed the fire, which was coming from a heated vent of a rooftop cooling unit. He added that one firefighter received a minor injury when debris fell on him and was taken away on a stretcher. An engineer declined treatment after suffering an undisclosed injury.

Eric Trump, the president's son and an executive vice president of the Trump Organization, whose offices are in the tower, confirmed the fire and praised FDNY first responders in a Twitter message.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
