June 23 (UPI) -- The remnants of Tropical Storm Cindy spun off a tornado in central Alabama, injuring at least four people and damaging a number of buildings and trees, emergency officials said.
Air traffic controllers at Birmingham Shuttlesworth International Airport observed the tornado around 12:45 p.m. Thursday, Al.com reported. People reported damage throughout the area, including in McAdory, Fairfield and Ensley.
