May 26 (UPI) -- A former trucking company employee was arrested after he crashed a truck through the front gate of a Nevada brothel, the Lyon County Sheriff's Office said.

Brian Brandt, 40, allegedly drove a stolen tractor-trailer though the gate of the iconic Moonlite Bunny Ranch near Carson City early Thursday. The truck came to rest at the front steps of the brothel's main building. Sheriffs arrested Brandt and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon, property destruction and possession of stolen property.

Dennis Hof, owner of the Moonlite Bunny Ranch, said about 45 people, including 10 customers, were inside the building when the truck drove onto the property, but none was injured. He described the front of the brothel as "demolished," and estimated that the property sustained about $400,000 in damage, the Reno Gazette-Journal reported.

Michael Carson, of the sheriff's office, said Brandt jumped from the truck after it struck the building, adding that Brandt was masked and wearing body armor but carried no weapons.

The truck was stolen from the northern Nevada terminal of Central transport International Inc., a Michigan-based company where Brandt was formerly employed. Mickey Blashfield, a company spokesman, said Brandt drove for Central transport but was recently fired for what he termed inappropriate behavior.

Brandt was arrested in Sparks, Nev., on May 17 and charged with battery and conspiracy to destroy property, data from the Washoe County Sheriff's office indicates.

"He showed up early this morning [Thursday] at the terminal and commandeered a truck. The next thing we heard was a call from the Bunny Ranch about an incident taking place there," Blashfield said.

Hof said the truck contained packages for delivery when it crashed into the brothel.
