Watch live: Sean Spicer gives daily press briefing

By UPI Staff

March 24 (UPI) -- Press secretary Sean Spicer will likely face questions about the GOP-led healthcare plan up for vote Friday in his daily press briefing at the White House.

He is set to answer questions from reporters at 1 p.m.

The briefing comes on the same day President Donald Trump essentially issued an ultimatum to members of the House of Representatives -- pass the American Health Care Act on Friday, or keep the Affordable Care Act.

House Republicans have been unable to muster the votes needed -- 215 -- to pass the AHCA with some members saying it doesn't do enough to roll back Obamacare policy. Trump visited Capitol Hill on Tuesday to press the GOP into passing the bill, warning that if they don't, they're likely to lose seats in the next election.

He's also held multiple meetings this week with members of the staunchly conservative Freedom Caucus, which has included many of the holdout votes.

Also Friday, Trump is scheduled to hold a meeting with the National Economic Council in the morning, and at 11 a.m., he'll meet with Charter Communications CEO Thomas Rutledge and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott.

He is having lunch with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and in the afternoon is hosting a Greek Independence Day celebration in the East Room of the White House.

At 4 p.m., Trump is meeting with Medal of Honor recipients.
