WASHINGTON, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Israelis favor Hillary Clinton to Donald Trump by a nearly two-to-one margin, a new poll finds.

A survey by the Israel Democracy Institute found 42 percent of Israelis said they prefer Clinton, while 24 percent said Trump.

Among Arab Israelis, Trump's support drops to 11 percent.

The findings are a change from Israeli public sentiment in recent U.S. presidential elections, where citizens there have tended to back the Republican candidate over the Democrat.

Trump has at times in the campaign drawn condemnation of the Anti-Defamation League for retweeting images that originated with anti-Semitic and white supremacist groups. The Anti-Defamation League also criticized Trump for failing to more forcefully disavow the support of former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke.

The findings are in line with a recent UPI/CVoter/Gallup survey of dozens of nations, in which Clinton led Trump in nearly every country by a wide margin. Israel was not one of the countries included in that poll.

The Israel Democracy Institute poll was conducted Oct. 5 to 9. It included 600 individuals and has a margin of error of 4.1 percentage points.
