DALLAS, July 29 (UPI) -- A passenger on an American Airlines flight that made an emergency landing just after take-off from Dallas captured video of flames on the plane's wing.

American Airlines Flight 438 took off from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport about 10:50 p.m. Wednesday and was supposed to head to Seattle, but the plane turned around and landed back in Dallas about 20 minutes later.

Passengers said there was a loud bang shortly after take-off, followed by flames shooting out of one of the plane's wings.

Passenger Jason Mosley captured video of the flames from inside the plane and posted it to Google Plus. Instagram user @djseph captured video of the plane's fire from the ground.

American Airlines said a compressor failure had caused fuel to leak from the back of engine and cause a trail of flames. They said the engine remained fully operational during the incident.
