NEW YORK, July 27 (UPI) -- A winner could be declared Wednesday in the Powerball lottery jackpot that has grown to $422 million as no winners have been declared in nearly three months.

Wednesday night's drawing offers the biggest prize since May 7. The $422 million prize can be withdrawn for a cash value of $291.8 million.

Although Wednesday's grand prize would make any winner smile, it is dwarfed by January's historic $1.5 billion Powerball lottery -- the biggest in history, anywhere on the globe. Previously, the largest jackpot in U.S. history was $656 million and the largest Powerball was $590.5 million.

In Saturday's drawing, 1.4 million people won non-jackpot prizes of $9,974,422.
