PHILADELPHIA, July 26 (UPI) -- Liberal firebrand Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts delivered a sharp rebuke of Republican Donald Trump, telling Democratic delegates the choice in November's election their choice is clear

"On one side is a man who inherited a fortune from his father and kept it going by cheating people, by skipping out in debts. A man who has never sacrificed anything for anyone. A man who only cares for himself every minute of every day," Warren said. "On the other side is one of the smartest, toughest, most tenacious people on this planet. A woman who fights for children, for women, for healthcare, for human rights. A woman who fights for all of us."

Warren's speech offered a liberal stamp of approval for Clinton from Warren, a woman many liberals openly hoped would challenge Clinton for the nomination. Warren did not endorse either Clinton or her opponent Bernie Sanders during the primaries, but was widely reported to be a finalist as Clinton's vice presidential nominee nonetheless.

On Monday, she rallied the Democratic National Convention with a call to action, to continue fighting for changes that will benefit ordinary Americans rather than large corporations and special interests.

"Democrats have taken on those fights That's what we do. Democrats fought to get health insurance for more Americans. Democrats fought for a strong consumer agency so big banks can't cheat people.

"Republicans and lobbyists battled us every step of the way. There is a huge difference between people fighting for a level laying field and the people fighting to keep the system rigged."

Warren went n to tie Trump to the wealthy elite who have benefitted from a system she said allows too much influence for the very rich.

"Where was Donald Trump? His whole life his been about taking advantage of that rigged system," Warren said.

She pointed to the Republican convention last week as evidence Trump's strategy is to incite fear rather than present solutions to problems facing voters.

"Other than talking about building a stupid wall that will never get built, other than that wall did you hear any actual ideas?" she asked. "Let's face it, Donald Trump has no real plans for jobs, for college kids or for seniors No plans to make anything great for anyone except rich guys like Donald Trump."
