PHOENIX, July 13 (UPI) -- A marketing executive for Yelp has died after tripping and falling off a cliff at the Grand Canyon.

Colleen Burns, 35, of Orlando, Fla., was on a hiking trip Friday with friends along the trails of the national park when she fell about 400 feet near the scenic spot known as Ooh Ahh Point.

"She was like stepping out of the way for another gentleman to kind of squeeze in, unfortunately Colleen kind of got tripped up on her own feet and fell backwards," friend Jessica Roman said.

"That was the longest, strangest, craziest two seconds of my life. Those last two seconds where everything changed are so minute in comparison to all the memories I have with her," she said.

The National Park Service is investigating the incident.

Burns was Yelp's Southeast regional marketing director and had worked in various roles for the company since 2009.

The company released a statement touting Burns as responsible for launching "the Yelp community in Orlando nearly seven years ago" and "her passing represents a tremendous loss to our company, the communities she supported and the many friends she made while doing what she loved."
