PHOENIX, July 13 (UPI) -- Phoenix police have connected seven deaths and two woundings to a serial killer who shoots his victims at night with a semi-automatic handgun.

The shootings began March 17 and have mostly occurred in the low-income Phoenix suburb of Maryvale. Police said several of the victims were shot right outside their home.

"All of the witnesses have described that the suspect was outside of his car," said Phoenix Police Sgt. Jonathan Howard. "We have not found any link between any of the victims to each other or the shooter."

Police said the "serial street shooter" is a young, fair-skinned Latino or white male in his 20s. They have also raised the reward to $30,000 for information that leads to his capture.

"Someone out there knows who did this," said Phoenix Police Chief Joe Yahner. "We need our community to call us or Silent Witness and help us solve these cases, bring justice to these families and victims, and prevent more violence from occurring."
