The men then allegedly stole a truck from a nearby home. The Chaplin brothers were captured after they surrendered at about 9:15 p.m. on Sunday in a home in Goose Creek.

"Special tactical teams from both the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office and the Goose Creek Police Department surrounded the location were the escapees were believed to be," Berkeley County Sheriff's Office said in a statement late Sunday. "Negotiators were able to establish contact with target location whereupon Michael Bryan Chaplin and Matthew Daniel Chaplin surrendered. They were turned over to the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office."
