BUENA PARK, Calif., May 25 (UPI) -- Of all the confounding moments awaiting presidential candidates on the campaign trail, a couple of guys in the front row taking their shirts off and cheering gave Hillary Clinton pause, though the Democratic front-runner recovered and shared a laugh with her California supporters.

The incident happened at a rally in Buena Park. Clinton's microphone cut out during her speech leading to a brief lull in the action. The two men stepped in to fill the void and took off their shirts to cheer on the candidate.

Clinton seemed taken aback for a moment, but then embraced her supporters' enthusiasm, saying they could stay, "as long as they don't take anything else off."

"You know you've got to make split decisions, that's what leadership is all about and we are a big diverse country," Clinton said to the cheering crowd.

Attempting to get back on track, Clinton asked herself out loud, "so where was I?" The Democratic front-runner then cracked a smile, looking back down at the two men.

"I've got to admit, it is a little distracting standing up here looking at them," Clinton said.

She then made a show of avoiding eye contact, promising she would look elsewhere before returning to her prepared remarks.
