OKLAHOMA CITY, May 10 (UPI) -- At least two people were killed on Monday in Oklahoma due to severe storms that generated tornadoes that damaged homes, vehicles and businesses.
One unidentified man died in his Garvin County home, while another person died in Connerville after being trapped in rubble. Several people were injured in Johnston County and a Coal County radio station was heavily damaged. Several homes in Murray County were also damaged.
Officials are working to assess the extent of the damage. Although several forecasters predicted the likelihood of tornadoes was low on Monday, the National Weather Service later in the day issued five simultaneous tornado warnings. Four tornadoes occurred. The storms did not bring significant rainfall.
Severe weather could return to Oklahoma on Wednesday, with a 20 percent to 50 percent chance of severe storms.
